We’re very proud to say that fire safety begins at home!

Our Health and Safety manager Shannon West has been working alongside South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue to ensure that all our properties reach the highest standards of safety – starting at head office!

“We have always taken all aspects of fire safety for all our tenants extremely seriously, but in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy we became even more determined to ensure that every aspect of fire safety was adhered to and even exceeded,” says our Operations Director Amy Ryan.

“Our head office at West Bar in Sheffield is not just the home to our team but is also a residential block for many students so it was important that here, as with all our other sites, we should meet the required standard.

“Shannon’s meeting with SYFR confirmed that the building has all the necessary equipment, evacuation procedures and supporting documents in the event of a fire alarm activation.

“This includes zone charts for reference, dry riser locations, floor plans and locations of emergency shut off points for amenities like gas and electricity.

“We were delighted with the response and feel confident that inspections of our other sites will be similarly successful.”
